Shadow Works – Shadow Work(s), a painting about being able to mask things and behavior that is to big to encompass at the time.
Shadow works explores the parts of ourselves that we sometimes reject or project onto others. When something someone says or does affects you, you look at yourself with curiosity. ‘What is affecting me so much right now? What loss or longing do I see in the other person?’
It is nice to have the space to encounter your shadow, the openness and trust to learn from it.
Sometimes you are not yet there; the impact is too great and it has to go, back into the shadow. The shadow works.
This work is an ode to the shadow, to the natural rhythm of growth and the ability to (temporarily) mask something if you don’t have the space for it right now.

Where the mask no longer casts a shadow.
