About the Artwork

Embrace your Utter Sadness Intense pain and sorrow—how do you relate to it? Embrace Your Utter Sadness explores how to cope with these intense feeling of sorrow. Where can it find its bedding, what does it need? How do you move through life with this feeling of sadness?

This utterly sad feeling finds space close to the heart. In a warm hollow, where it finds security and softness. Where it can hide, retreat when necessary. And breathe and move with it when there’s room for it.

The paintings in the Embrace series explore an emotion and how to relate to it. The emotion has a personal form, as if it were a separate individual with whom you can communicate and discover what works for both of you. Finding space, movement, and a suitable pace.

A Co-creation

This ‘work in progress’ video, and poem are to combined expressions of embracing utter sadness.

We recently published a new co-creation. In this case, the artwork was inspired by one of Susana’s poems (In Captivity).
